Create a Color Scheme for your Room

Not sure where to start?

I have an easy process that will help you find a color scheme you'll love.

Select a focal piece you love and then build your room's color scheme around that piece. The tufted purple chair from Horchow.com in the concept board below was my focal piece. A unique chair upholstered with an amazing colored fabric. How could this not be a focal piece, right?

Next, select colorful artwork incorporating that color. From here you look for accessories and other room furnishing that incorporate all or a few of the artwork's color scheme. You can always start with selecting your art first and work from there. Remember, always repeat color for balance and you can do this through the accessories you select.

Once you've established the color scheme find the balance between the colorful and non colorful items. Keep the wall and floor color neutral to make your furnishing colors pop or add some neutral pieces to blend in and create color balance. Surround yourself with colors you love and you will always love the space you live in.
